Julie Hassall is a visual artist and designer drawing inspiration from her fashion design background, with a passion for empowering Waimakariri creatives.
She creates unique, layered works combining fabric, beading, and mixed media, blending collage techniques and textures.
Sharing her expertise, Julie teaches sewing workshops at Rangiora Library's Tinker Zone and offers private sewing tuition, helping others tap into their creativity.
Her achievements include the Best Mixed Media Award at Kaiapoi Art Expo 2022 and a stunning Botanical Piano Commission with Waimakariri District Council, showcasing her talent and community spirit.
Julie's work is currently featured in Schmuck Rangiora 2026, a contemporary Aotearoa jewellery exhibition at Chamber Gallery, Rangiora Library. Check it out until the 23rd April
