Melanie is an embroidery artist who finds her joy in creating three dimensional works inspired by fungi, bugs, flowers and the natural world. She loves to create art that draws the viewer in close to inspect the intricate details and hidden worlds inside each piece.
My classes focus on building skills and confidence in a fun, supportive and relaxed environment. My philosophy that ‘rules are there to be broken’ means our focus is on extending your skills, building your creativity and, most importantly, finding the joy in the act of creating.
When I’m not teaching or managing a busy family life, I’m in my garden studio creating and playing with threads and fabric, or wandering in the garden watching bumblebees or hunting for mushrooms.
