Guided by Julie in a relaxed, supportive studio, you will learn the core skills every sewist needs
- from accurate cutting and neat sewing, to pressing and professional finishing techniques.
Each week you will create a brand-new project to take home, building your skills step-by-step.
Our beginner projects include:
Drawstring Bag – Master straight seams and casings, then make and thread your own drawstring ties
Piped Cushion with Envelope Back – Add piping for a polished edge and create a simple envelope opening. No zips needed!
Cosmetic Bag with Frill – Add a cute small frill, insert a zip opening, line your bag, and sew neat, boxed corners for structure
Book Bag - Learn to create a strong tote with neat seams and comfortable straps. Perfect for library books, sport gear, or everyday errands

Accurate cutting and fabric preparation
Straight stitching, pivoting, and neat seam finishes
Pressing for a professional result
Making and inserting piping
Creating an envelope back closure
Sewing and inserting a zip
Adding lining and a decorative frill
Sewing boxed corners for 3D structure

Everything is provided for you:
Sewing machine, tools and materials are all included. Just bring yourself!
Tea and coffee are provided to keep you comfortable while you create.
Work at your own pace in a small group setting. Whether you have never touched a machine or just need a refresher, Julie will be right there to guide you.
